The Yorkshire 3 Peaks (Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent) is the most famous single day walking challenge in the UK. The route is approximately 24 miles (38.6km) long and 1585m (5200ft) of ascent and the aim is to complete in 12 hours. Many visitors attempt this walk as an organised group with a guide/leader and raise […]

Approximately 8.4 miles taking up to 4 hours depending on ability. Whernside is the highest of the three famous Yorkshire Three Peaks standing at 736m, with a total ascent of 525m. Our Guest’s Reviews
Stayed for 2 nights in this cosy cottage in Burtersett, just a mile or so outside Hawes. It was the perfect location to explore the Dales. The cottage was perfect : scrupulously clean, warm and all the amenities we could ask for, including wifi, a modern TV and an excellent shower. Someone had put a lot of thought into the presentation with thoughtful touches throughout, co-ordinating sheep pictures in muted colours .. it felt really homely. The main bedroom in particular is lovely, and it has great views of the dales. Its a terraced cottage but we didn’t hear any neighbours (other than some baa-ing from a nearby field!) ,and the village itself is very tranquil There is no parking immediately outside the cottage, but we had no problems parking in the village a minutes walk away and we were able to park outside to unload and load. The communication from the owners was timely and friendly Highly recommended

What a wonderful well presented cottage in a quiet but convenient location. It has been decorated tastefully to a very high standard, great to see every need covered. Ideal for a short break or longer right in the heart of the national park. We were fortunate to be able to walk straight from the cottage but many other attractions if walking is not your thing. Hawes is a small walk away and it was nice not to worry about traffic or parking. You must visit the dairy or even the jam preserve factory shop (much cheaper). This cottage was simply perfect to meet our needs of 3 adults for 3 days away.

We just loved our stay at Quarry Cottage. A beautiful Yorkshire stone cottage. It was immaculate with quality fixtures and fittings. The bed was comfy and the shower was amazing. We were able to get the Dales bus at the end of the lane. We just flagged them down in either direction. The walk into Hawes on the public path through farmland was only 20 mins. Hawes was lovely and the surrounding views from the cottage were amazing. Andy was very helpful and was happy to help with queries prior to our trip. Very highly recommend this lovely property.

A cosy, beautifully clean cottage in a lovely village which is very well placed for walking in Wensleydale. There were plenty of logs for the log burner for the nights we were there.

The location was perfect. The cottage is very cosy, has stunning views. After hiking it was a pleasure to return to the cottage, light the wood burner and relax.

This wonderful cottage was renovated about a year ago. It was beautifully done with quality items and extremely comfortable furniture. Much thought obviously went into the project. The WIFI signal was very good and although we had some initial difficulty connecting, Andy responded very quickly to our message about needing help. The entire cottage was absolutely immaculate and thoughtful items were provided.
